December leads IYI’s efforts to develop high impact professional education and organizational capacity building experiences that result in positive outcomes for Indiana kids.
In this role, she partners with various stakeholders to design innovative and responsive conferences, trainings, consulting services along with MENTOR Indiana, a strategic initiative of IYI.
She has served on state and national boards including as Chair of MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership’s Mentoring Affiliate Advisory Council.
December is proficient in Spanish, has a master’s degree in education and has recently continued her professional learning at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Prior to IYI, December served as the executive director of the Children’s Museum of Evansville, where she gained extensive experience in early childhood education, fund development, curriculum development, and nonprofit management. She also spent 10 years in the business community working with Hispanic entrepreneurs.
She and her husband, Matt, are residents of downtown Indianapolis and are devoted mentors in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.
