Charlie provides both strategic and innovative leadership to maximize the positive impact on communities and the healthy well-being of youth. He leads the Impact and Data Solutions division, which provides critical data and resources to empower partners and peers and is also responsible for the organization’s work in statewide engagement and advocacy.
Prior to joining IYI, Charlie served as Director of Early Learning and Intervention for the Indiana Department of Education where he led the agency’s efforts for English learners, migrant education, school improvement, and early learning. He has also worked as a teacher, instructional coach, department chair, and district administrator. In addition, he is an expert speaker and regularly facilitates professional learning at local and statewide events.
Charlie is passionate about leadership, education and serving vulnerable and marginalized populations with a deep focus on immigrant families and race equity. As a proud husband and father of three boys, he loves spending time with his family traveling and playing music. He earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his master’s degree from Butler University.
