Vice President of Data, Analytics and Research

Alicia leads IYI’s data team to help increase the effectiveness of evidence-based decision making. This includes analyzing and connecting quantitative and qualitative data on Indiana’s youth to various policies and initiatives. 

Alicia previously served as the Chief of Staff for Governor Holcomb’s Workforce Cabinet and Senior Director of Policy and Legislation for the Indiana State Board of Education. Alicia led the development of Indiana’s Strategic Workforce Plan, which integrated Indiana’s education, workforce, and social services systems to help all Hoosiers attain economic mobility. Before moving to Indiana, Alicia worked in Washington, DC for Senator Orrin Hatch. She started her career teaching first grade in a rural parish in Louisiana with Teach For America. Teaching ignited Alicia’s passion for promoting greater racial educational and economic equity for youth.    

Alicia holds a Master’s in Social Anthropology from Oxford University in England and a Bachelor’s from Emory University. Alicia loves trekking; her favorite hikes have been Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu, and the West Highland Way.
