INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Youth Institute is hosting its 30th annual KIDS COUNT® Conference Dec. 3-4, 2019, at the Indiana Convention Center.
The conference brings together hundreds of youth-serving professionals – including educators, afterschool program providers, youth workers and community leaders – for two days to learn, connect and uplift one another in our shared work to improve the lives of all Indiana children.
Conference attendees can choose from more than 70 breakout sessions designed to provide meaningful tools and resources. The sessions focus on important and relevant topics ranging from family engagement to social-emotional learning to vaping to STEM.
The keynote speakers at this year’s conference are Dr. Adolph Brown, a national education expert focused on elevating youth work, and Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, a leader in pediatric medicine specializing in social-emotional wellness.
The KIDS COUNT® Conference will also highlight amazing and inspiring work happening in the youth services field by celebrating the recipients of two awards: The 2019 D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year award, given to a youth worker nominated by their peers, and the James T. Morris Award for Excellence in Leadership, which honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the field, the community, and the state.
