Description

Adults who work with children and youth spend much of their time nurturing young people, yet often struggle to find time for personal and professional renewal. It takes a community of renewed youth workers to encourage teamwork, rejuvenate morale and bring new life to any office or program culture.

The term "self-care" can seem like a current “buzzword” and opinions vary on what self-care involves. For some, the cost of self-care may seem out of reach: spa days, weekend getaways, expensive gym memberships, etc. Join us for this lunch presentation to gain a clearer understanding on what self-care entails and begin to define what it means personally. Attendees will:

  • understand aspects of true self care versus indulgence and distraction;
  • learn to recognize their own unique self-care needs; and
  • begin to develop an individual self-care plan that can be implemented and further developed throughout various career experiences.
