Key Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Advancement is responsible for building and maximizing relationships with a portfolio of prospects to exceed an annual fundraising goal of $1 million that furthers IYI’s impact. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, team-oriented and ambitious development professional. This person has a strong dedication to improving the lives of young people and is looking to take their fundraising career to the next level.

The Vice President of Advancement will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic and creative engagement plans for all levels of donors and prospects throughout the state. The ideal candidate has a high degree of persistence and a dedication to process. This person is both methodical and fast-paced. They understand that this position spends most of their time outside of the office, telling supporters and prospects about IYI’s impact.

The Vice President must be able to engage high-level investors and prospects, update databases, book meetings, write reports and manage the details of follow-up. Attention to detail, strong organization skills and a relentless drive for results is essential. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves position that also requires immense diplomacy skills.


Minimum of seven years professional experience in university or nonprofit fundraising. Master’s degree and/or CFRE preferred.


This position reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer and oversees two additional fundraising professionals.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full time, exempt position with a strong benefits package. Salary is competitive and commensurate with level of experience.
