The Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations promotes awareness of and engagement with the Indiana Youth Institute through internal and external communications. We are seeking an experienced, team-oriented and focused professional with exceptional project management skills. This person has an ability to oversee multiple and ever-changing media and communication activities.
The Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations will be responsible for building strong online communities through our various digital media marketing channels. The ideal candidate has a high level of persistence, flexibility and dedication to results. The individual will also track and evaluate each channel’s performance and make strategic adjustments as necessary.
The Director must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, word processing and research skills, ability to collaborate with the IYI team, critical reasoning, ability to demonstrate a high degree of independence and initiative in seeking impact stories. The Director works in coordination with other departments on all IYI events, including conferences, statewide awareness campaigns and all local and statewide trainings. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires immense attention to detail and follow-through.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, public relations or marketing, plus 4 years of professional writing for newspapers, magazines, radio or TV or others in the communication industry. Youth services or public-sector communications experience preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
This position reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer and oversees one additional full-time team member.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time, exempt position with a strong benefits package. Salary is competitive and commensurate with level of experience.
