D. Susan Wisely "Youth Worker of the Year" Award

The D. Susan Wisely “Youth Worker of the Year” Award will recognize an individual’s extraordinary impact on Indiana’s youth and support his or her continued professional development. The award is provided courtesy of the D. Susan Wisely Leadership Legacy Fund, a fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation.

The recipient will be recognized at the Indiana Youth Institute’s Because KIDS COUNT Conference in November 2016.

Award Details:

  • $2,500 Cash Prize, to be used for the recipient’s professional development
  • Free registration, hotel and travel for recipient and a guest to attend the Because KIDS COUNT Conference

Eligibility: Nominees must be committed direct-service youth workers who have at least five years of distinctive achievement in service of Indiana youth. Nominees must be committed to the following core values:

  • Demonstrates servant leadership
  • Respects differences and diversity and believes in equal opportunities for all
  • Demonstrates commitment to results and effective practice
  • Mentors others and engenders trust
  • Possesses integrity and is honest and responsible

Nominees are free to propose any professional development opportunity and associated expenses, with the exception of IYI events. Proposals need not include a complete budget or brochures – all necessary confirmation and documentation will be obtained from the award recipient after notification.

Timeline:

August 15, 2016 - Nomination Packets Due

October 3, 2016 - Recipient Notified

November 29-30, 2016 - Recipient Recognized at Because KIDS COUNT Conference in Indianapolis

Nomination Process:

The nomination process may be initiated by either the nominator or the nominee, but both forms must be completed and submitted together along with the required supplemental information. Please review the guidelines for a complete nomination packet checklist.
