Mental health influences all areas of child well-being; children must have good mental health to reach their full potential. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma and poverty have been linked to an increased risk for mental health illnesses. youth who experience anxiety or depression face a higher risk of poor health outcomes as adults. Depression during adolescence is also associated with disrupted school performance and peer/family relationships.
