We Expand Public Involvement by Increasing Public Awareness
of the Need and Benefits of Youth Mentoring
We accomplish this through the following activities:
- Sending bi-monthly e-newsletters to a client list of more than 500 present members
- Producing and promoting mentoring through Public Service Announcements on radio, TV, print medi
and the internet.
- Hosting a user-friendly web-portal for the general public that engages, educates and connects potential
mentors with mentoring opportunities in their community.
We Facilitate Community Collaborations and Investments in Mentoring
We accomplish this through the following activities:
- Providing a Community Tool Kit to instruct and offer tools for establishing new local partnerships and educating participants about every role in successful community collaborations (e.g. business, school, civic) to clarify levels of involvement and drive action.
- Facilitating local collaborative structures that sustain long-term investment and participation of the public, private and non-profit sectors
- Building the capacity of interested communities to implement a local model of a multi-sector mentoring collaborative
- Convening members of the mentoring community to advance specific communities and the State of Indiana.
- Working with funding partners to increase their level of dedicated, direct funding for quality mentor programs
- Collecting mentoring program data to share with state, regional and local decision makers
- Hosting a clearinghouse and referral system of individual and groups interested in collaborating with existing mentoring programs
